Allianz CEO Oliver Bäte is on the Board of Coalition

Coalition, the leading insurance provider, has announced the appointment of Oliver Bäte, the Chief Executive Officer of global insurer Allianz SE, to its Board of Directors.

In addition to Bäte, Coalition’s Board of Directors comprises Bret Johnson, CFO of SpaceX; Julie Richardson, Independent Board Member; Shardul Shah, Partner at Index Ventures; Nick Shalek, General Partner at Ribbit Capital; John Herring, co-founder of Coalition; and Joshua Motta, CEO and co-founder of Coalition.

Joshua Motta, CEO and Co-founder of Coalition expressed enthusiasm about Bäte joining the board, highlighting his dedication to technological innovation in the insurance sector. Motta emphasized the evolving nature of the cyber insurance market and the significance of Bäte’s insights and expertise in global operations, industry knowledge, and long-term planning.

Bäte brings extensive executive experience from Allianz, assuming the CEO role in 2015 after serving as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. His earlier career involved leadership roles at McKinsey & Company, including overseeing the firm’s European insurance and asset management practice.

Expressing his perspective, Bäte noted the emergence of new business risks worldwide, emphasizing the necessity for fresh strategies within the industry. He commended Coalition’s innovative approach to handling cyber risks in today’s digital landscape and expressed pleasure in joining the Board of Directors.
