Global C-Suite Summit

Ranked: 20 of the world’s youngest billionaires in 2023

Stock Exchange

With a net worth of nearly 3.8 billion U.S. dollars, Clemente Del Vecchio, aged 19, is the youngest billionaire on the planet, primarily attributed to his late father’s eyeglass empire, Luxottica. He was followed by Kim Jung-youn ($1.2 billion), Kevin David Lehmann ($2.5 billion), Kim Jung-min ($1.2 billion), and Luca Del Vecchio ($3.8 billion).

The oldest billionaire is George Joseph, who is 101 and the average age of all billionaires is 65. There are 10 billionaires that are 30 years old or younger, with Clemente Del Vecchio and Kim Jung-youn being the youngest, both still under 20 years old. They became billionaires after their fathers, Leonardo Del Vecchio and Kim Jung-ju, passed away in 2022 and left them shares of their companies.

Who is Clemente Del Vecchio?

Clemente Del Vecchio hails from the prominent Del Vecchio family; his father, Leonardo Del Vecchio, was an Italian billionaire businessman renowned as the founder and chairman of Luxottica, the world’s largest producer and retailer of glasses and frames. Upon his father’s passing, Clemente and his five siblings inherited his vast fortune, propelling them to the world’s wealthiest individuals. This Italian conglomerate encompasses esteemed eyewear brands such as Oakley, Oliver Peoples, Persol, and Ray-Ban. He inherited a 12.5% stake in his father’s Luxembourg-based holding company Delfin, after his death, along with his stepmother and six siblings. After inheriting his stake in his father’s fortune in 2022, Clemente became the world’s youngest billionaire at age 18.
