# Swiss engineering firm ABB has appointed Björn Rosengren, as the company’s new CEO. He will join ABB on February 1, 2020, and succeed CEO, Peter Voser, in this role on March 1, 2020. Björn Rosengren is the president and CEO of Swedish engineering group Sandvik, since November 2015. Rosengren was also the president and CEO of Wärtsilä Corporation (2011–2015).

# The Swedish aerospace and defense company Saab AB is seeking a new president and Chief Executive Officer following Hakan Buskhee’s decision to step down from the role. Håkan Buskhe, has been Saab’s CEO since Sept. 1, 2010, has a six-month notice period and could, therefore, continue in his role until February 2020.

# Bailed-out Royal Bank of Scotland has reportedly selected Alison Rose as its next CEO, which would make her the first woman to head a major British bank. The most powerful woman in the # UK’s banking now is Baroness Vadera, who chairs Santander UK, the 5th-biggest high street lender. Alison Rose, the Durham University- educated banker has long been seen as the frontrunner to take charge of RBS after Ross McEwan’s departure. McEwan quit in April but remains with the bank while it searches for a replacement.

# The Louisville, Kentucky-based Yum Brands Inc. has named Chief Operating Officer David Gibbs it’s next chief executive officer, effective Nov 1, 2019. He will succeed Greg Creed, who has served as a chief executive officer since 2015 and will retire at the end of 2019.

# With a monthly basic salary of ₹8.9 million, HDFC Bank managing director Aditya Puri remained the highest-paid bank chief executive in India, during the financial year 2019, as compiled by Economic Times. Axis Bank CEO Amitabh Chaudhry is at the second position with a monthly basic salary of Rs ₹3.9 million and Kotak Mahindra Bank’s Uday Kotak was the third highest-paid bank CEO at ₹2.7 million per month, said the report. The ICICI Bank’s former CEO and MD Chanda Kochhar was the fourth top-paid bank CEO at ₹2.6 million per month till her exit from the bank.

  5. Sandeep Bakhshi (succeeded Kochhar Chanda Kochhar at ICICI Bank, basic monthly salary: ₹2.2 million)
  6. Romesh Sobti (IndusInd Bank, basic monthly salary of ₹1.6 million)
