Ignacio Duron: Building a Business From the Ground Up

A Leader Shaped by North Hollywood and Hard Work
Some leaders are born in boardrooms. Others are built on job sites, ball fields, and long days spent solving real problems for real people.
Ignacio Duron belongs to the second group.
He grew up in North Hollywood, surrounded by family, sports, and a strong sense of responsibility. “Sports taught me discipline early,” he says. “You learn to show up, even when it’s tough.” That lesson would guide nearly every part of his future.
Today, Ignacio is the CEO of Most Valuable Plumber and a rising figure in Los Angeles County’s home-services market. His path wasn’t traditional, but it was steady, hands-on, and rooted in a dedication to teamwork — the same mindset he uses when coaching youth football and basketball.
This is the story of how he built a business, built a reputation, and continues to build opportunities for others.
Early Roots: Family, Sports, and Responsibility
Ignacio’s childhood in North Hollywood set the tone for his work ethic. He spent his days playing sports, helping around the house, and learning from family members who valued hard work.
“My family always believed in figuring things out together,” he says. “If something needed to be done, we all stepped in. No one stood around waiting.”
That family mentality played a major role years later when Ignacio, his siblings, and his brother-in-law co-founded a plumbing company that would eventually serve all of Los Angeles County.
But before that, sports shaped him. Not as a hobby — but as a blueprint.
“Teamwork was everything. You run plays, you trust each other, you lead by example. That’s how I approach business now.”
Foundations of a Career: From Helper to CEO
Starting Out in the Trades
Ignacio entered the plumbing world the same way many strong leaders do — from the ground level. He wasn’t chasing a title. He was building skills brick by brick.
“I learned by doing,” he says. “You get in there, you fix things, you stay late, and you understand how the work really gets done.”
His early experience gave him a clear advantage later as a business owner. He understood the trade, the problems customers faced, and what workers needed to succeed.
Launching Most Valuable Plumber
With family support, Ignacio helped create what would become Most Valuable Plumber — a company rooted in trust, straightforward work, and fairness.
“We started locally,” he says. “Just a few of us, a truck, and the belief that if we did the job right, people would call us again.”
That belief proved true. Word spread, referrals grew, and the company expanded across Los Angeles County — from Santa Monica to the Beverly Hills canyons.
Today, Ignacio manages teams, scheduling, customer relationships, and growth strategy. But he still keeps the same boots-on-the-ground mindset.
“I’ll never ask someone on my team to do something I wouldn’t do myself,” he says.
Education and Growth: Learning While Leading
Ignacio did not pause his education while running a company. Instead, he doubled down. He earned his associate’s degree in Business Administration and Economics and is now pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Law at Arizona State University.
“School helps you think differently,” he says. “When you understand the business side and the legal side, you make smarter decisions.”
His growing expertise helps him navigate contracts, operations, and planning — all essential functions for a modern service-based business.
Leadership Beyond Work: Coaching the Next Generation
Outside of business, Ignacio is a coach, mentor, and father. He spends his free time running youth football and basketball programs, including his sons’ teams.
“Kids need confidence more than anything,” he says. “Sports give them structure, toughness, and real-life lessons you can’t teach in a classroom.”
Many young athletes still come back to him years later, thanking him for encouragement that helped them push through challenges.
Coaching also helps Ignacio stay connected to the community his business serves — a value he takes seriously.
“If you’re going to run a company here, you should be part of the place you work in,” he says.
Life Outside the Job: Family, Friends, and Sports
For Ignacio, achievement means balance. When he’s not running his company or coaching, he’s spending time with family, watching sports, playing basketball or softball, or relaxing with friends.
“Those moments matter. Work is important, but family keeps you grounded.”
Looking Ahead: A Growing Company and a Growing Leader
Ignacio’s story is still being written, but the themes are clear: hard work, teamwork, and a commitment to doing things the right way.
He doesn’t call himself an industry leader, but his approach — hands-on, honest, and community-focused — reflects the direction many service businesses are trying to move toward.
As Los Angeles continues to grow, so does Most Valuable Plumber. And Ignacio remains focused on improving, learning, and leading from the front.
“Every year I want to be better than the last — as a father, a business owner, and a person.”
