Blockchain and quantum for a secure, fast, and intelligent future. The case of Quranium.

There is something spiritual about Kapil Dhiman, the Co-founder and CEO of Quranium, the world’s first Layer-1 (L1) blockchain, designed to be quantum-secure, AI-native, and EVM-compatible. He takes my call from his office in Mumbai, even though his energy sets the tone of the conversation on a global stage, while his mind is always rooted in profoundly human values.

His new venture, launched in January 2024, wants to be an ecosystem, where developers and users gain a future-proof infrastructure, where smart contracts, wallets, and decentralized applications operate with security guarantees that remain valid in the post-quantum era. Being EVM compatible, Quranium allows millions of Ethereum developers (all other EVM chains) to deploy their projects, while benefiting from post-quantum cryptography. This answers a core problem, which very few started addressing: a future where quantum computing will make current tech stacks obsolete, a future where people need to be secure to thrive. This is why we (FP) sit down with him, to discuss his plans. This is our exchange.

Tells us a bit about your story

I grew up in a family and acontext,where values and discipline mattered more than money. My father was in the military. My mantra has always been about doing the right thing. I played multiple sports, which added to that culture and mindset. The military environment is multi-cultural and inclusive. It doesn’t matter where you are from. We are all together to serve and protect.

I studied psychology and sociology and added a CPA (FP: black belt for accountants). My goal was to understand how people behave and function. Tech came later, and I learned it more by doing it. My work background is made up of over 12 years of multi-national experience, including eight years at PwC.  Before Quranium, I created the fastest-growing gaming and metaverse company in India and became the “Entrepreneur of the Year 2023”.

Where did I go after this, you may ask? Why am I doing what I am doing? I went on a spiritual journey to find my next move or to understand how to add value to the world at large. I went through a few months of isolation, spoke to 100 people, and cleared my mind and soul about what was about to come next. I wanted to create and have impact. This is when the world of quantum and blockchain came together.

Tell us about Quranium

I have been in blockchain since 2016. I started studying quantum in 2018. The convergence of the two exponential technologies took place in early 2024. Our security infrastructure is just math. Our computation has a certain strength. Quantum can break our creations in seconds. The world needs to be ready for the computing of the future, which is quantum powered. I am solving this, hopefully for the benefit of the whole global community. Quranium wants to make the lives of humans better. Our life and dreams depend on what we work for, the resources that we put aside, to fund our projects, personally and professionally. Our money needs to be protected. This comes from the military context and education that I received. Security allows social growth. We want to help secure the money and resources for the next generations.

How is it going so far? 

It has been two years now. We are moving in the right direction. We have a team of over 50 people, 150+ globalpartnersand over 2 million transactions on our test-net. We are the first ones to create an end-to-end ecosystem.  From native Layer 1 to worlds first quantum secure multi chain crypto wallet, smart contract builder, community building platform and more – we are not just creating a blockchain – we are creating an end-to-end ecosystem all under one roof. And now, we will bring all of this into one seamless product that will reach over 100 million users in 2026. Quranium is not a tech company, it is a mission to secure the next generation.  We want to bring the same security that can secure Trillions of Dollars, to your mobile phone and the devices you use daily, in your life.

What’s success for you? 

For me success is alignment.It’swhen my daily actions match my inner values and the future I am building.  I don’t measure success by money, or external validations.  I measure it by three things: First, am I growing – as a leader, as a creator, and as a human? Second, am I building something that genuinely improves people’s lives? And third, am I doing it in a way that lets me sleep peacefully at night, and keeps me excited every morning when I wake up my eyes? Right now – I am a very successful person :)
